OUR HISTORY
Suburban Tours, a division of Suburban Travel Agency, Inc., has been operating since 1976. Created specifically as a tour operator specializing in student travel, we focused originally on student band and choral groups, who participated in music festivals and competitions as well as performance tours. At that time, these were the student groups who primarily traveled. Building on the experience gained from these trips, we began to share our expertise with a variety of other student groups. We currently assist such organizations as athletic teams, senior classes, drama clubs, foreign language, history and science departments, fine arts classes, middle schools, Scouts, and church youth groups as they travel to various destinations.

Our mission is derived from a strong belief in the educational value of travel. Customized proposals and programs seek to balance value with rewarding, worthwhile itineraries. Working directly with you, we strive to share our experience and resources in developing a trip that reflects your individual interests and objectives.
We believe in the value of introducing your students to new places, new experiences, new people. Their understanding of and appreciation for other cultures and fresh ideas will be enhanced by the diverse opportunities available to them through travel. As they participate in these new endeavors, their curiosity will be stimulated and their knowledge expanded. Lessons of the classroom will be reinforced by the real world experience they gain.
In the framework of the fun, interactive nature of group travel, we believe students will also acquire important values and social skills. Teamwork, cooperation, open-mindedness, motivation, attentiveness, independence, resourcefulness, and money management are just a few of the attributes and life skills that students will find valuable throughout their lives.
In addition to building character, the opportunity for students to travel together also helps to build community. Long after the trip, students will treasure the memories they shared.
OUR EXPERIENCE
You'll benefit from our combined history of over 100 years experience serving the group travel needs of the educational community. We offer you our expertise in a wide variety of areas: destination knowledge, selection of accommodations, experience in working with music festivals and competitions, familiarity with area attractions, itinerary design, problem resolution. In short, we'll assist you in all aspects of tour operations, including planning, arranging, developing and conducting your trip. Full time group travel coordinators are available to consult with you and provide input on the many possibilities available to you at each destination.
Over the years, our music groups have traveled to several presidential inaugurations, Cherry Blossom Festivals, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, bowl games, and hundreds of music festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada. Other groups have traveled to exciting destinations such as Williamsburg, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Toronto, New York City, London . . .
